My Clothes Changing Speed Is Absolutely The Fastest In The World
Very good friend from Taiwan Tsao Rong Ting featured on one of the biggest variety shows there (which is also shown here! Diamond Night Club!). Not only does he have crazy yoyo tricks he's got this ultra fast clothes changing SPEED.
He comes on @14:30 right after a VERY INTENSE acrobatic performance. (if the videos don't work, 2nd video onwards here)
Group A Semi-circle~~ Elias Park Yoyo Academy
Few shots from the first weeks there. I remember thinking "Primary School kids are angels. So much easier to control than Secondary School kids >.<" but soon we realised it's only cos it's the first few weeks... :(
My Group A! I thought I had bad handwriting than i met Choon Kang (1st from left in Red). I thought I was blur. Then I met Choon Kang again.
Faijal/Rajar/Fajar's group. He got all the mischievous ones. Only know how to run around and scream. But they learn faster than everyone. Mischieve = Smarts? (Hell Yes)
Colin getting mobbed like a Rockstar. By girls who like to kick my shoes (Weird). I know one of the girls has identical facial features with Colin's mystical godfather (who runs the DJ scene @ iShop and remixes Jay Chou with ugh...Savage Garden?)
Srsly?
Gun N' Roses with Daft Punk with Brraaap! into Lil' Jon vs Heaven is a place on Earth? Yes. @ 65mins on his Super Massive 80min megamix. Halabulu Balu-what?

What Has Technology Done For Humanity?
This post was supposed to go up abit before Naaah~ Nah~(in which the girl and brothers just after 1:56 are really cute) which is a reaction to this:
I was talking to mom (Yes I do talk to her). Well not really we were just reading the papers and I was again casually pondering why she has to work ridiculous hours. While considering the fact that all these years her work hours have only gone up amidst banking's technological advancement from Book->Computer->Internet
Mr Ong: Technology's never made life any easier huh?!Mom: Yeah cos they expect you to be doubly efficient now.
(First time me and my mom have agreed on something since 5 months ago. Bingo.)
For that matter I've long said that technology's never made humans any happier too.
Naaahh~ Na~Na Nanana~~Naaahh~~
Considering how flash mobs wouldn't be possible or as popularr without the internet though, if they made technology do more things like these..
hell even I'd sing.

Backflips!
I think the Backflip is a benchmark trick. For example no one's going to call you an amateur if you can do a backflip on a skateboard. Or BMX. You're immune from mediocrity if you're a Break Dancer who can throw in a good one. At least in the general public eye.
Not too many years ago they did the first Backflip on a Motorcycle, BMX & Snowboard guys were trying the Double Back and Aggressive In Line dudes were going for the Triple.
Now most of that's been done plus they've been able to backflip on a Snowmobile, Kitesurf, probably Jet Ski and really almost anything with an engine.
Really though this has to be the biggest baddest one of them all. Doesn't look all that great but still. It's a MONSTER TRUCK!

Sorry!
for the lack of updates the last week has been pretty stale. It consisted of
-Double fuckin A
-St Fighter (believe it or not I'm improving! no more losing to scrubs!)
-Going out with girls
-Reading 1984 (the book Hans gave me like 3 Jurassics ago) and watching stand up comedy at the same time (which results in your mood racing from depressing to ecstatic and than back eventually confusing youself with this like weird sadness like thing that makes you feel lousy about yourself). In all fairness it is a really good book though. I can understand why it's held in such high respect. Just too damn depressing to be enjoyed.
I'm wondering if i should get a PS3 to play St Fighter ROAR!

Humour Will Save the World
Now I've been a fan of hiphop for a while now but the sad thing is no new good hiphop has been played on radio/MTV for like 5 years.
MTV Hiphop of late has been dominated by songs made up of a raunchy beat with random verses of braggadocio and someone from the Pussycat Dolls on the chorus. Which is cool if you're bumpin in the club or just want something to bop your head along to but really, it's pretty shallow music.
Now for the longest time I've been grappling with this love (for the lesser known & older school rappers) hate (for the diluted gimmickry you get through MTV) relationship with hiphop, and its hard to express the reasons behind it in words.
So I was pleasantly surprised to find that Chris Rock said it best.
Nobody makes cuss words sound/look cooler. Shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaat!

CENSORS LIFTED
I haven't been counting the days but I'm quite sure the 2 weeks grace is up. So if you're easily offended by offensive material (of all kinds. Language, images, racial, sexual), please go and watch another episode of Korean drama.
The reason I want to lift censors drops tomorrow!
Sorry i haven't been posting for abit. Life hasn't been at its smoothest. Vanilla Ice still alive!
Name Remix ft. Jeff Staple, Cole Winston Moss!
Jeff Staple, is an amazing guy. Designer and purveyor of all things cool, he's responsible for the infamous Pigeon Dunk Riot, Staple Design, and looks into a magical crystal ball with the Legend that is Hiroshi Fujiwara.
Anyway, apparently a while back, one of his fans Cole Winston Moss took one of his sayings and did an ill illustration of it, then Jeff and him made a print out of it.
Recently they worked together illustrating lyrics from the iconic Bill Joel's We Didn't Start The Fire
to produce a (this look familiar?) really cool tee.

Queen + Banana Guns + Cowd Surfing
As if each of those weren't awesome enough by themselves.
Juggling is easy. Juggling tricks can be well.. tricky. Juggling to music by Queen in tightass jeans and a goofy hat and perfectly synchronising everything to the music is..

Artist Series
It seems over the years the words "Artist Series" has pretty much (d)evolved from a small collection of envelope pushing versions of the normal product into a pseudo intellectual catchphrase that corporations throw around to automatically generate hype within the 15-30 age group.
Case in point, Gibson Artist Series Guitars
Sure, number 2 actually looks pretty. The rest is mediocre at best (ugly). Dear Multi-million Dollar Money Guzzling Focus Grouping Corporations and your Uncreative Marketting Shindigs, how long more are you going to do this "make our product a template for half-baked artists to doodle on" fad/trend before you realise it's looking hella dumb (& ugly).
Nike done did it now EVERY sneaker company's got "Artist Series".
Mountain Dew threw some money at a few starving ILLUSTRATORS and pulled the same act, which means F&N's gonna do the same crap soon.
Every "Urban Vinyl" toy's been sent to random people who can paint nonsense an all white version of their 6 inches of cute. Then throw a freakin exhibition at a boutique that sells a series of Tshirts designed by the same artists at a premium.
Now every bag company, Apple product case manufacturer perfume maker's jumpin in.
Oh right we all just want to earn a quick hipster buck. My bad.
Here, know what, I'll help you out.
Mc Donald's got them plain white cups they use when you too cheap to pay for mineral water. Get some underground graffiti artists to doodle on it in your Red-Yellow colour scheme. Instant street cred.
7-11 y'all gotta work out an Artist Series of Eco-Friendly Tote Bags. Now not only are you in with the hip crowd, you're going green too. 2 bandwagons at once. Oh wait set up a website where we can "custom" (really just choose colours for) our own design. 3 bandwagons. Don't forget to set up a pop-up shop right outside your own stores selling it. 4 bandwagons. That's a new world record.
Oh and if you're wondering what to do after that's done, you can either do Series #2 or just collaborate with everyone else and their mother and you're the new Head Porter.

Dots and Circles
and now I present to you a series of 3 abstract photographs inspired by the Oasis gig :p
The series of abstact formations reflects the photographer's apparent lack of technical image capturing ability. A subtle jibe at how civilian journalism though useful, often lacks the ability to capture the full story. The same way a picture of a woman hitting her child belies her underlying love for the kid.
It is coincidentally also "open to your own interpretation" and aims to "evoke the viewer to question and to think".
Really though I just wish someone out there looooooooves the 3rd picture (which looks better large). Stage lights can be Awesome.

VOTE FOR CHANGE!
If you ain't voted for the colourway yet, go Pimp My Stride and VOTE on the right! I'm bustin out the paints soon!
Don't Look Back In Anger
From a whole month ago, the Oasis gig was great!
I don't know if it's because coming at the tail end of a whole string of concerts they had alot to match up to, or just me going in with expectations, or maybe they really didn't give it they all, but it wasn't a super gig. Still, it was massively enjoyable to actually see the boys in the (very distant) flesh belting out the tunes that got me through.. well.. most everything really.
Maybe it was because it was a tour for their new material (which I tried and though it isn't bad, I just can'tget behind. Sorry) and I think most everyone there was there for their old songs >.<
Don't Look Back In Anger cos you know you wanna hear the Indoor Stadium say "Soo Sally can wait~". I swear after the video half way through the song a they sent a wheelchair to the middle of the standing crowd and Noel (dude singing) said "somebody's got a stroke" or something to that effect and than continued playing. Kinda spoiled the main song I went to hear, but super funny.
The Brits really turned up in full force to support their homeboys. Like maybe 50% the people there was British. The rest was a cool mix of everything else really. Hipsters, music people, expats, people with good jobs, broke ass kids (me), at one point we were standing beside this one dude who looked like a 80's rocker and hippie had a kid, put him in a nice red jacket and never introduced him to the idea of a haircut. He sang every LINE of every song. When I don't know what they were playing I'd ask him haha. After the concert we found out he came down from KL just for this. He didn't look like he had enough money to go home. I think he also mentioned be plays in a band called Bittersweet.
Yeah you get one more song free.

Only in Japan
Truly ridiculous.
Cool as it is, it's sad that we have the money to build this and there are people still starving and
uneducated. Humanity ftw.

Pimp My Stride!
I bought me a sneaker. No hype. No flamboyant packaging. Just a sneaker. Leaner silhouette for leaner times.
I do want to add a little something to make it pop a little though. There's 3 things I could do to the sneaker. I could paint the swoosh, paint the stripe and switch up the laces. Anything else would be too must trouble and going over the top.
So firing up photoshop and messing with the colours, I came up with a few colourways!
And here's where you come in. Check which colours you think would work out the best and VOTE! On the right.
The safest bet would be to just add a redstripe to it. Air Jordan 1 colours! (AJ1)
Electric Green/Fire Red (Christmas)
Everything together! (Rainbow) I really like this from a sneaker fan's standpoint, but I really wondering if it'll be too crazy for someone my age. Or I could just screw everything and roll with it.
Also not to be forgotten, a little offbeat but I like it alot too, "inspired" by another iconic Air Jordan sneaker, Electric Green/Purple (Grape!)
Pimp My Stride! Vote!
We're Not Impressed By Locals Anymore
because the next time you see a BMX Rider you'll be asking him to do Backflips off tree trunks.
