Initially I just wanted to try and see what this is about thinking Frisbee shouldn't be too "Fierce". When we got to the field though we found out that this is some very serious business.
Kind of like Rugby meets Netball with a Plastic Disc, Ultimate Frisbee puts 2 teams against each other and they try to catch the Frisbee in the opposing team's End Zone (much like rugby).
There's as much running, teamwork, skill and heart involved as any other sport I've done, but with a slight Hippie twist to it. There are always female players in the field making it a sport for both sexes, and players call their own fouls. No referees.
Ultimate Frisbee is fun!
If people want to do more Ultimate Frisbee, there is probably a club nearby where you live, just look it up on Google (that is how I found my club years ago).
ReplyDeleteMost clubs will happily welcome new members and give you some free trainings to boot! If you decide to continue playing, the training fees are usually very low when compared to other sports.
